First of all, thank you for your interest in Witcoin Project and with the success of the knowledge economy!
You can start by visiting the project page and inform yourself with the conditions of the token sale at: https://witcoin.io
In this document we will detail the simple steps you can follow to contribute to the development of the Witcoin Project and earn WIT that you will be able to spend in the future Witcoin Platform for the registration and disclosure of your value knowledge.
You can contribute to the project making a donation with any of the following cryptocurrencies:
Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, Dash, Bancor y Aragon. The simplest way to make for first donation is by using Ether, following the steps described here.
- Your first step will be to create your own wallet from which you will be able to make deposits and transactions of Ether and Tokens. The wallet in cryptocurrencies is simply a piece of software that can ran on different devices and platforms like a PC, an Android phone, an Apple phone, etc. In the case of Ethereum, it has its own official wallet that you have to download to a PC in order to start using it. It is free and can be downloaded from the following address:
But, this is not the easiest way to start using Ether, especially if this is your first experience with cryptos. So, we propose you to start using a web wallet such as the one that offers MyEtherWallet.com, created by and independent company with the objective to simplify the use of wallets. You can access this service through the following address: https://www.myetherwallet.com
Follow these steps to create your first wallet
a) Go to https://www.myetherwallet.com/, and in the section “Create New Wallet”, enter a strong but easy to remember password and click the “Generate Wallet” button. Do not forget it. This encrypts (protects) your private key. It does not generate your private key. This password alone will not be enough to access your Ether.
b) Download your Keystore / UTC file & save this file to a USB drive. This is the encrypted version of your private key. You need the password to access it. It is safer than your unencrypted private key but you must have your password to access it in the future.
c) Click to the button “I Understand. Continue”. Print your paper wallet backup and/or carefully hand-write the private key on a piece of paper. If you are writing it, it is recommend you write it 2 or 3 times. This decreases the chance your messy handwriting will prevent you from accessing your wallet later.
d) Copy & paste your address into a text document somewhere. Search your address on https://etherscan.io/. Bookmark this page. This is how you will view your balance at any time. In this example the address can be found on: https://etherscan.io/address/0x0b95F01cD448d13f955ECC79000880284512f0e7
2. Now that you have your wallet and your public address it is time to purchase some Ether (remember to not tell anybody your private key!). You can exchange your USD/EUR or any other fiat currency for Ether in several online currency exchanges. Ones of the most popular exchanges are:
Let’s follow the example of CoinBase
a) First thing is to create an account. They will ask you for some personal details including a payment method in order to verify that you are creating a valid account.
b) Once your payment details are verified, click ‘buy/sell’ on the top menu. Select ‘Ethereum’, and at the bottom of the page choose how much to spend in your local currency / how many coins you want to buy. Once you’re happy with the amount, click the big ‘Buy’ button.
c) You’ll be asked to confirm your purchase. Press the ‘Confirm Buy’ button. Congratulations! You now own some Ethereum.
d) Now, click ‘Accounts’ from the top menu, then find your Ethereum wallet listed on the left. Click ‘Send’.
e) In the ‘Recipient’ box, paste the Ethereum wallet address we just created in MyEtherWallet. In amount, type how much Ethereum you wish to send (there is a ‘use max’ option if you wish to send it all). Click ‘Continue’. Coinbase may ask you to confirm with your password/phone. Follow the instructions until it confirms the Ethereum are sent.
f) Now we’ve got to wait a few minutes for the coins to move across the network. Unless there’s an unusually large network backlog, the coins will take between 5 and 30 minutes to arrive at your wallet. You can watch at Etherscan.io to see when you receive your Ether.
3. Now you can make your donation to Witcoin through MyEtherWallet. Go to the section “Send Ether & Tokens”, and select the option to access your wallet via “Private Key”. Type the private key of the account you created earlier and click the “Unlock” button.
On the next screen just enter the amount you wish to donate to the Witcoin Project and enter the following To Address:
You can leave the field “Gas Limit” as it is and finally click to the button “Generate Transaction”. Hooray! You just made us a donation! You can watch your donation by following the address you sent the Ether on Etherscan.io.
5- A last step. You can check that your WIT has been transferred to your wallet by configuring it to see them. On your wallet, go to the option “Add Custom Token” and fill the form with the following data:
Token Symbol: WIT
That is all! As soon as your WIT are transferred to your account you will be able to see them and exchange them through your wallet!
